Using the Transform Pane

  1. If you do not see the Transform pane in the Properties panel, click and drag the Porperties panel scroll bar down.

In the Transform pane, you see tabs for several transform methods which you can use.

Use the Transform pane for multiple transforms.

  2. If you do not see the Transform types, turn down the arrow to the left of the word Transform in the Properties panel, and then click on the Scale transform tab.
  3. Click and drag each X and Y value, until each value is set to 0.9 (90%). You have now scaled an exact percentage.

Click and drag on the values in the Scale transform to
change the size of a selected object.

  4. Press Ctrl+Save to save your project, or choose File > Save. Keep the project open for the next section.

  1. With the smCtrlBG still selected, click on the Properties tab to make sure that it is forward.
  2. If you do not see the Fill and Stroke brush options on the Properties panel, use the scrollbar on the Properties panel to scroll back up to the top.
  3. Click Stroke, then click the Gradient brush button. A default gradient stroke is applied to the smCtrlBG object.

  6. Now click anywhere on the gradient slider to add an additional color stop. Click the color picker to change the color. Repeat this as many times as you like with different colors.

You can add additional color stops to the gradient.

  7. Choose any color stop that you wish to remove, then click and drag it down and away from the slider to remove it.
  8. Select the Gradient tool from the Tools panel and position your cursor over an end point. You will see the rotate cursor appear.
  9. Click and drag to change the angle of your gradient. Any angle is fine for this exercise.
