Integrating with Expression Web 3
Although SuperPreview can help you identify and isolate layout issues and it can even give you some data in terms of position and size values, you cannot make any fixes to your pages from within the program. For that you’ll need to use Expression Web 3 or another html editor. Of course, the benefit of using SuperPreview with Expression Web is that the changes can be previewed quickly due to the integration between the programs. You’ll now add a fix to your source page in Expression Web in order to fix the layout issue in IE6 and then refresh the browser view in SuperPreview.

1. Press Alt-Tab on your keyboard to switch over to Expression Web. The same page appears.
   What’s causing the problem on this particular page is called the Double-Margin Bug, a common problem associated with pages rendered in Internet Explorer 6. The fix for this bug, as you’ll see, is relatively easy.
2. Within the Folder List panel on the left hand side of the screen, double-click on the styles.css file to open it.
3. Scroll down to line 310, and remove the commenting around the line ‘display: inline;’ by deleting the /* characters in front of the rule and the */ characters after the rule. The rule will change to red and blue, signifying this rule is now active.
   Note: The concept applied here is called commenting. Everything between the character pairs /* and */ will be ignored by the browser. Removing the comments will make this rule apply to your page.
   
   
   
   
   To see the fix in action, you’ll need to switch from design view to SuperPreview.
4. Click the default.html tab to return to your page, you cannot jump to SuperPreview while viewing a .css document.
5. From the File menu, choose Display in SuperPreview.
6. You’ll be asked to save your changes before proceeding. Save the file to replace the original, and click OK. Do the same with the styles.css document as well.
   Now SuperPreview launches.
7. Scroll to the right, be sure to check your comparison browser and make sure it is IE6. Notice that the Case Studies section has moved to its correct location in Internet Explorer 6. The problem has been solved.
   
   
   
   
   You have now seen how SuperPreview can successfully debug websites using multiple browsers on the same system.
