Redefining Baseline and Comparison Browsers
You’ll now compare this type issue in both Expression Web and SuperPreview. Keep in mind that when troubleshooting layout, it’s a good idea to identify a single problem and then drill down and fix it. Often times you will find solving one problem solves another (or creates another!) so best practices dictate identifying the most obvious problems first, solving them, and moving on to the next (rather than trying to do everything at once).

1. Press Alt-Tab on your keyboard to toggle back to Expression Web.
2. Click the Lucerne Publishing header. The issue with this text now makes more sense when we see the h1 tag highlighted in Expression Web.
   
   
   
   
   When this mockup was converted to html, the author used html text and CSS styling. You could, at this point, attempt to make the CSS style reproduce the desired look of the type. An easier solution, however, might be to use the graphic from the mockup in the html document. These are decisions that vary from person to person.
   It will also be useful to redefine your baseline browser in order to further diagnose the problem. You would like to quickly check how this image mockup compares against a number of different browsers.
3. Press Alt-Tab on your keyboard to toggle back to SuperPreview.
4. In the Baseline area, click the Close button to remove Internet Explorer 8 as the baseline browser.
5. Click the Open Image button, which now appears in the baseline screen, and navigate to the mockup image (lucerne_mockup) to use it as your baseline instead.
6. Then, in the Comparison area, click the Close button to close out of the mockup image.
7. Click the Internet Explorer 6 button to choose it as your comparison browser.
8. Click the Refresh button in the toolbar above to refresh your preview.
9. Using the Add button (+), click to add Internet Explorer 8-7, Internet Explorer 8, and Firefox to your comparison browsers. In the end, you will have IE6, 7, 8 and Firefox lined up from left to right. Technically, the order of these browsers doesn’t matter; in this case you are adding them from oldest to newest. This order is not a bad idea as you can advance through them in order.
   
   
   
   
   
10. Click the Refresh button in the toolbar above to refresh your preview.
    Your comparison screen should now show the page as it will be rendered in Firefox (assuming you added this one last).
11. You can toggle through the different comparison browsers by clicking on their respective buttons in the Comparison area. This further shows the differences between the header type’s rendering in different browsers, and reinforces your decision to use an image instead of text for the header.
    You’ve now seen how to compare an html layout to a page mockup, and also how to redefine your baseline and comparison browsers.
